Spire Whisper Rock IV Socket A Cooler
Introduction Overclockers have long known that in order to achieve higher overclocks on
their processors, better cooling is needed. The only problem with this is that
with higher performance coolers comes higher noise levels, something which many
overclockers are now beginning to loathe. Of course there is always water-cooling,
but not every overclocker has the technical knowledge or courage to be able
to install a water based cooling device into an electronic system. The solution to the dilemma of performance versus noise was the introduction
of heatsinks which could take larger diameter fans, therefore offering the same
amount of airflow, but at significantly lower RPM. The product we are looking
at today is the Spire Whisper Rock IV Socket A cooler. It is the successor
to the Spire Rock II, with the only real difference being the efficiency of
the fan used. Will this cooler live up to its older siblings performance benchmark?
Will it help alleviate the stress on an overclockers eardrums? Read on to find
out. NOTE: All images in this review are zoomable. Click
