Introduction

With the initial release of the Intel Pentium 4© processor, Intel launched its proprietry memory design, RD-RAM. Market acceptance, however of this new ram specification was very limited, with most users either not wanting to spend the exporbitant prices that were being asked for RD-RAM, or already owning DDR-RAM, which was proven to provide better performance than the 'new' RD-RAM. Based on these facts, intel developed its new i845 chipset, with support for DDR-RAM.

The board we are reviewing today is DFI's i845 solution, the NB-70SC. Behold:
